What To Expect

For your physical therapy evaluation:
  • Expect 60-75 minutes for a thorough evaluation
  • Wear comfortable clothing, sports bras are ideal. Your therapist needs to see your skin, have access to your joints and watch how your muscles move.
  • You and your therapist will have a full discussion on your current roles, job responsibilities, fitness level
  • You will discuss your therapy goals. Do you want to move better, get fit, have less pain?
  • Range of Motion (ROM ) assessment in all related joints
  • Strength testing in all related muscle groups
  • Assessment of relevant activities; running, squatting, pushing, pulling, typing, carrying, etc.
  • Discussion of noted faulty patterns during movement
  • Home exercise program recommendations; handout emailed to you per your request.
  • Develop a treatment plan, determine if you would benefit from physical therapy, personal training or a dedicated home program
For your physical therapy follow-up treatments:
  • Expect to spend 30 or 60 minutes
  • After your physical therapy evaluation if it is determined you need further care, you will begin working with a PT and a frequency that works for your schedule. Most clients are seen 1 x week, others 1 x month for check-ins
  • You and your therapist will develop and review your home program
  • Expand strengthening and stretching exercises to target the impaired area/improve movement pattern
  • Receive education on faulty movement pattern and your therapist will help you re-educate the muscles to move correctly
  • As needed, manual therapy; assisted stretching, joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, silicon cupping.
  • Within every session, your therapist will reassess your movements to track your progress towards improvement
