Biography
I’ve grown up participating in a variety of sports. Gymnastics, volleyball, softball, basketball… even golf – I’ve done most of it. But after my athletic career ended in high school, I had difficulty finding any sort of passion for movement again, and slowly found myself with less and less self-confidence. Nothing could replace the feeling I had in competitive athletics… until I found CrossFit in 2013.
CrossFit gave me a new sense of self. I was proud of what I was doing every single day and was refreshed by the idea of putting more value in my strength and skill as opposed to something superficial. It filled the void I had felt since the end of my athletic career, and was the arena I was in when I decided to pursue a career in Chiropractic Medicine. After a few years under my belt, I found Tribe and was immediately drawn in by the welcoming community, excellent coaching, and the common goals I found among my peers. Eventually, I decided to devote my training to weightlifting with the goal of perfecting my lifts and getting stronger – to improve my CrossFit workouts. My original intention faded and I found myself completely falling in love with the sport, and ended up qualifying for my first American Open Series shortly after. Many meets later, I am still in awe of what weightlifting brings out in people.
It’s safe to say that health and fitness is truly a passion of mine. If I’m not working on my own, I’m coaching it… and if I’m not coaching it, I’m helping people continue to participate in it or get back to it as soon as possible. I’m honored to be able to be a part of this community as an athlete, a Chiropractor, and a coach. So whether you’re looking to compete, get stronger, or just need an outlet… we’re here for you!
